Six technology tools and services that real estate owners wish existed but don't

We at Thesis Driven spend a lot of time covering the technology that exists to serve the real estate industry. But we’ve written nothing on the technology that doesn’t exist—but should—that would make real estate owners’ lives easier.
Through interviews with over a dozen real estate owners and developers of various sizes, we’ve identified six technology needs currently unmet by the market. For each, we tackle the specific need, why is has gone unaddressed to date, and how future advances in technology—including AI—may make it easier to solve in the coming months or years.

1. Cybersecurity tools
As real estate owners embrace more technology—both at a corporate and at an asset level—the risk of a cyber catastrophe like a data breach, ransomware attack, or phishing scam has risen dramatically. And while real estate owners and operators are aware of the risks, they don’t have an obvious set of tools at their disposal to handle them. Better cybersecurity tooling, therefore, came up more than any other technology need in our research.
